Who developed Protexid?
The patented natural supplement formula was the brainchild of Ricardo Pereira, PhD pharmacist, from Brazil. He combed the medical literature in search of clues to natural supplements that would calm the stomach, control the excess output of acid, or influence its muscular action, without bad side effects. He brought his unique perspective as a doctor of pharmacy and a Brazilian preference for remedies from nature to bear on the problem. His search produced what he believed would be an effective natural formula, called Tripiridol. Dr. Pereira’s patented formula, Tripiridol, is the active ingredient in the Protexid supplement.
What will help me keep stomach acid where it belongs?
Your Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) is the muscle responsible for keeping stomach acid in the stomach. Providing the conditions where this muscle can work its best is the long-term solution to heartburn. Stomach acid in the stomach is good;
it’s when it gets out that it causes its damage. Aging, obesity, certain foods, medication and stress can cause our LES
to works less effectively. Protexid, powered by a proprietary blend of nutrients, supports gastro-intestinal health.
Isn’t stomach acid the reason I get heartburn?
Stomach acid is not the cause of heartburn. Stomach acid in the wrong place is. Stomach acid is actually necessary for both full digestion and a healthy immune system. Keeping stomach acid in the stomach should be the goal of any long-term heartburn relief program.
What’s the downside of antacids?
The myth is that stomach acid needs to be neutralized to prevent heartburn. But you really don’t want to neutralize acid or stop the production of acid in the stomach. The bacterial killing effect of stomach acid is one of the first lines of defense in your immune system, designed to protect you from invasion by germs that ride in on what you eat and drink. The protective barrier role of stomach acid is an important reason why constantly ‘blocking’ acid or ‘neutralizing’ acid with standard heartburn remedies is not a good strategy in the long run: it interferes with normal immune defenses.
What about prazoles (lansoprazole, pantoprazole, omeprazole, esomeprazole, rabeprazole, etc.)?
Lansoprazole, omeprazole, esomeprazole, and rabeprazole have potentially serious adverse side effects. They abolish acid production so completely that serum gastrin levels rise. In rodents enterochromaffin-like cell tumors and carcinoid tumors have developed. It is not known whether these drugs are carcinogenic in humans by a similar mechanism. Moreover, bacterial overgrowth may develop in the stomach in the absence of acid. Bacterial metabolism of dietary nitrites may then lead to the production of N-nitroso compounds that are carcinogenic.
I am taking 40 mg of pantoprazole. Can I take the same time that the Protexid?
Yes, always with a difference of four (4) hours (at least).
If you want to stop taking pantoprazole, you have to do it gradually:
